Lil Bug’s favorite playground has been dubbed the “Rain Playground” ever since we got caught in a rain shower one day. In Rain Play, a family is playing on the playground when the rain comes, “But we stay awhile and play. Tippy-toe as puddles grow.” They splash in the rain, make a paper boat to float in the puddles and fill a leaf up with water like a cup. But when the thunder and lightning come it’s time to go home. The rhyming text is set against collages filled with bright colors and many different textures. Lil Bug loves to point out the kids on the swings, her favorite part of any playground.
Lil Bug says: Drip drop. The kids got wet on their heads and the wind blew the trees. Drip drop.
